We invite you to explore Central Florida’s past by searching and browsing over 80,000 images of historic materials. Diaries and letters describe the region and how people survived day-by-day in this extreme and rugged environment. Maps, photographs, and postcards illustrate how the region looked in the early years and how it changed over time.

Central Florida Memory exists to share our history and the process of virtually gathering, preserving, and disseminating the documents, artifacts, and stories unique to our region. A behind the scenes look reveals details about the project, partners, grants, and additional resources.

Students of all ages can learn about Central Florida’s history by reading our Florida Stories, subject specific stories created using materials from the collection. Teachers can access ready-made classroom activities, lesson plans, and additional resources.
