| Description | Black-and-white photograph of the Hotel Montezuma with car out front. Text above the photograph reads: Hotel Montezuma, Sanford, Florida. The hotel was on the corner of 3rd street and Magnolia avenue. Built around 1887, it was known as the Hotel Wilton, the Bye-Lo around the 1910s, renamed the Montezuma in the 1920s, and the the Hotel Montezuma in 1924. The front of the hotel faced Magnolia avenue. Postcards of the hotel from around 1910 show the 3rd street porch screened and from around 1926, extensive remodelling of the hotel took place. Corner posts on the front porch were removed and large square columns were added. The upstairs and 3rd street porches were enclosed to add more rooms and an extension was made to the south side of the building. The hotel burnt to the ground, date unknown.
